April 22nd may be Volunteer Appreciation Day, and April may be the National Volunteer Month, but here at Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council we would like to thank our volunteers year-round! We love our volunteers at Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road!

Do you know an outstanding Girl Scout volunteer that deserves to be recognized? Tell us about them! The nomination process is simple; just complete the nomination form! Nominations can come from other volunteers, parents, or girls!

*Volunteers must have a valid registration and background check to be considered*

Ways to Say Thank You! toggle arrow

Here are some ways to show your troop leader how much you appreciate them. Choose the one that best suits you and your Girl Scout sisters. It’s always the right time to say thanks.

Idea 1: Throw a Surprise Thank You Party (Celebrate)
Surprise your troop volunteers with party hats and noisemakers at your next virtual or in-person meeting. Take turns sharing what you appreciate most about them!

Idea 2: Because of You (Cards)

Print out, decorate, and personalize one of our super cute thank-you cards!

Adult Recognition

Adult Recognitions are our way to say thank you to those who work hard to help us sucessfully fulfill our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Who can nominate? toggle arrow

Anyone can nominate! Parents/caregivers, volunteers, staff, and community members- anyone who recognizes a job well done can nominate an adult, business, or organization for an adult award.

Who can be nominated? toggle arrow

For most awards, nominees must be actively registered Girl Scout members, be an approved volunteers with a current background check on file with GSKWR, have completed at least one term of service in their volunteer position, live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and provide service above and beyond the requirements of their positions.

What about community members who are not Girl Scouts? toggle arrow

We offer a Community Recognition award for eligible businesses, houses of faith, or civic organizations for significant contributions of support to the local Girl Scout program. We offer a certificate and a plaque option, depending on the impact and level of support shown to Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road.

By scrolling below, you will find a list of both Fall Awards that are awarded during October’s Fall Association Meeting, and Spring Awards. Spring Awards are traditionally awarded during the April Volunteer Awards Celebration. Click on the appropriate award and begin completing the application as a nominator or as an endorser.
