A Message from CEO, Susan Douglas 
At Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road, we believe every girl begins with a dream. When she is surrounded by opportunity, encouragement, and a strong community that believes in her, that dream becomes something even more powerful, confidence to explore it, courage to pursue it, and the leadership to bring it to life.
Throughout 2025, we continued to see that transformation unfold across our council. In communities large and small, Girl Scouts stepped forward as leaders, innovators, and changemakers. They explored new ideas in STEM, strengthened their voices through civic engagement, built friendships that will last a lifetime, and discovered the strength that comes from believing in themselves.
This year also marked important milestones for our movement. We celebrated progress on the Northern Kentucky Leadership Campus in Erlanger, expanded access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through our Mobile Program Experience Centers, and strengthened partnerships that connect girls to real-world opportunities in leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Each of these efforts brings us closer to our goal of ensuring that every girl across our 67-county council footprint can experience the life-changing power of Girl Scouting.
Behind every girl’s success is a community that stands beside her. Our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, community partners, and supporters make it possible for girls to try new things, take bold risks, and grow into confident leaders prepared to shape the future of Kentucky and beyond.
As you explore this Annual Report, we invite you to celebrate the impact we have made together. Every badge earned, every service project completed, and every courageous step forward reflects the strength of a movement that believes in girls and the limitless potential within them.

At Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road, we know that big dreams begin with bold opportunities. That’s why we are proud to serve girls and families across 66 counties in northern, central, and eastern Kentucky—and one in Ohio—providing a leadership experience like no other.
From the first troop meeting to their final Gold Award ceremony, Girl Scouts across our council are discovering who they are and who they want to become. Whether they live in a bustling city or a rural community, every girl deserves the chance to lead, to grow, and to shine. We are fully committed to breaking down barriers—geographic, financial, or otherwise—so that every girl has access to the transformative power of Girl Scouts.
Our mission is more than a promise; it’s a movement. One built on the timeless values of courage, confidence, and character—and driven by a vision of a world shaped by strong, compassionate, and capable young women.

Through the Fall Product and Cookie Programs, 3,303 girls were resourceful and fully committed to the entrepreneurial spirit Girl Scouts Financial Literacy programs. Thank you to everyone who supported the next generation of female leaders and the opportunities that Product earnings make possible.
- 89% of Troop girls participated in the cookie program!
- 734,814 packages of cookies sold!
- 239 boxes sold per girl!
Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road enjoyed a wonderful year in the out of doors at our Erlanger Property, Camp Judy Layne , Camp Shawano, and across Kentucky hosting 868 curious campers.
Camp Judy Layne safely welcomed resident campers who hiked, swam, canoed, rappelled, and spelunked. Camp Shawano and Licking Valley Day Camp on the Erlanger Property hosted two weeks of day campers. Every day at camp was filled with adventure – creating confidence and capability for every camper.
For more than a century, Girl Scouts’ pillar programs have provided educational and exciting experiences for girls to explore, discover, create, experiment, and wonder - and have fun! In 2025, Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road served 2,696 Girl Scouts through Girl Scout Leadership Experience programs and activities.
GSKWR responded to girls’ continued interests and utilized the assets of its camps and open spaces to provide outdoor as well as virtual programs, creating accessible spaces to bring Girl Scout programming to girls. GSKWR’s program team continued its patch-earning opportunities and badge workshops through more than 237 council-led and partner-led programs.
