Traveling offers vast opportunities for Girl Scouts to develop leadership skills. Girl Scouts is a great place to learn how to plan and take trips. Travel is built on a progression of activities – that is, one activity leads to the next. As Girl Scouts grow in their travel skills and experience, they can better manage the planning process and progress to longer trips. Cookie Dollars for Travel - Usage Policy
Girl Scouts in the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council can use their earned Cookie Dollars from the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program to help fund meaningful group experiences and opportunities. Troops often save their proceeds to support travel to historic Girl Scout landmarks, regional attractions, and other exciting destinations, as well as community service projects and outdoor adventures. When Cookie Dollars are being saved for a destination, they may be reserved for up to three years, allowing troops to plan and work toward memorable experiences that encourage leadership, exploration, teamwork, and personal growth. Girls or troops who intend to hold Cookie Dollars for Destinations should communicate this to Product and Program team staff, so we can best support each girl or troop's goals. It is also imperative that girls and adults keep track of their earned cookie dollars.
