Help campers enjoy the best of camp life! Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road is looking for leaders, 18 years of age and older, ready to share the adventures of camp life with our youth this summer. Lifeguards; high adventure teams including: belay, zipline, challenge course, canoeing, and archery; nurse, cook, and youth developers are but a few of the skilled persons we are seeking.
Never worked at camp? Come develop leadership and team skills through hands on training. We train in wilderness programming, safety, emergency preparedness/response, problem solving skills and conflict resolution techniques. Become a professional role model for girls of all ages by learning and implementing the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
All employment applicants must be 18 years of age or older and do not have to have prior Girl Scout affiliation.
Volunteer opportunities available! Do you want to come to camp the same week as your daughter or troop members? You can volunteer at camp for their session. You may not be in the same unit with the girls you know, but you can be at camp with them. We need help in the kitchen, with arts and crafts, with hiking, or other activities.
For summer overnight camp you can volunteer for a couple hours, a day, a week or more. All volunteer applicants must be a registered Girl Scout for the current year. Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and must have a current background check (if you haven't done this already, we can send you the link). Junior counselors must be at least 17 and must have completed CIT I and CIT II to volunteer at camp for part of the summer. All volunteers must fill out the volunteer application. Applications are linked below and can be found on CampDoc. Please fill out the appropriate application and email it to camp@gswrc.org or mail your completed application to us at the address below.
During non-summer overnight camp time, you can volunteer to help with projects such as trail maintenance and spring cleaning. We occassionally can use help with projects like painting, brush burning, and setting up the fairy area. Let us know if you'd like to help with these projects.
