The Girl Scout Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference, but that she already has.

Seniors and Ambassadors who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. Think of the Gold Award as a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college, and amazing career opportunities.

Virtual Gold Award Office Hours

Hit a Roadblock? Let us help! Take advantage of our virtual office hours at your convenience. 

Gold Award virtual office hours are a unique opportunity for girls, parent/caregivers, troop leaders and project advisors to get assistance.“Drop in” to ask questions, brainstorm or receive clarification.

Drop-in office hours are available monthly for 90-minutes. See 2021 dates below. Only one person at a time will be admitted into the meeting room for privacy. There will be a 15-minute time limit per person. 

If you aren’t able to make it to one of the scheduled office hours or need to chat for more than 15-minutes, schedule a time that works best for you. Email and request a day/time. 

Office hours will begin again in November 2021.

GSUSA Girl Scout Gold Award YouTube Videos

In these new videos, the 2019 National Gold Award Girl Scouts will speak directly, girl-to-girl, sharing their best practices, and focusing on how they actually did their Gold Awards.  

The first Gold Award video is now available for girls to view on the GSUSA YouTube page. This video reviews the five key elements of a successful Gold Award and what those really mean for Girl Scouts.

Report Due Dates 

2020 High School Graduates - Final Reports Due : December 31, 2020

*GSUSA is offering a special deadline extension to December 31, 2020 and will continue to reassess over the next few months: Recognizing that many schools, youth activities and community gatherings have been suspended, and that we are navigating a period of rapid change, GSUSA is offering a three-month extension from Sept. 30 to December 31, 2020

Council-wide Gold Award Celebration Ceremony 2021 - GSKWR has made the decision to offer a special deadline extension to attend the 2021 Gold Award Ceremony. We are offering an extension from Jan. 15, 2021 to April 15, 2021 to provide flexibility for Seniors and Ambassadors earning the Girl Scouts’ Highest Award for their age level.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place in June 2021 - more details coming soonReports received after this date will be recognized at the 2022 ceremony.





Earning the Gold Award is an excellent way to give any college or scholarship application that “something extra” to help you stand out from the crowd. With some targeted research, you can uncover all sorts of helpful information to secure grants and scholarships. As with any online application, always be careful of the information you share.

You can pursue your Girl Scout Gold Award if:

You're in high school (ninth through twelfth grade, or equivalent) 


You're registered as a Girl Scout Senior or Girl Scout Ambassador


You have completed two Senior or Ambassador Journeys OR earned the Girl Scout Silver Award and completed a Journey
