Seniors and Ambassadors who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. Think of the Gold Award as a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college, and amazing career opportunities.

Virtual Office Hours

Hit a Roadblock? Let us help! Take advantage of our virtual office hours at your convenience. 

Virtual office hours are a unique opportunity for girls, parent/caregivers, troop leaders and project advisors to get assistance.“Drop in” to ask questions, brainstorm or receive clarification.

Drop-in office hours are available monthly for 90-minutes. Only one person at a time will be admitted into the meeting room for privacy. There will be a 15-minute time limit per person. 

If you aren’t able to make it to one of the scheduled office hours or need to chat for more than 15-minutes, schedule a time that works best for you. Email and request a day/time.

GSUSA Girl Scout Gold Award YouTube Videos

In these new videos, the 2019 National Gold Award Girl Scouts will speak directly, girl-to-girl, sharing their best practices, and focusing on how they actually did their Gold Awards.  

The first Gold Award video is now available for girls to view on the GSUSA YouTube page. This video reviews the five key elements of a successful Gold Award and what those really mean for Girl Scouts.

Important Dates

FInal Report Due Dates 

2022 High School Graduates - Final Reports Due : September 30, 2022

Council-wide Gold Award Celebration Ceremony 2023  - To be recognized at the 2023 Gold Award Ceremony, the Gold Final Report is due on January 15 th - this is an annual deadline. Reports received after this date will be recognized at the ceremony the following year. 





Earning the Gold Award is an excellent way to give any college or scholarship application that “something extra” to help you stand out from the crowd. With some targeted research, you can uncover all sorts of helpful information to secure grants and scholarships. As with any online application, always be careful of the information you share.

Mary Lara Hardesty was selected as Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road's 2022 Girl Scouts of the USA Gold Award Scholarship Recipient! Mary Lara's project "Camp Caches" exemplifies the core components of the Gold Award, and she demonstrated extraordinary leadership to drive lasting change in her community and beyond. You can pursue your Girl Scout Gold Award if:

You're in high school (ninth through twelfth grade, or equivalent) 


You're registered as a Girl Scout Senior or Girl Scout Ambassador


You have completed two Senior or Ambassador Journeys OR earned the Girl Scout Silver Award and completed a Journey
