Session One: 6/14/20 - 6/19/20

Fairy Land Camp

Campers will participate in fairy tale themed games, activities and crafts. Familiarize yourself with camp by going on a scavenger hunt to find Cinderella’s glass slipper. Enjoy dressing up in silly outfits when you attend the Mad Hatter’s tea party all while making new friends at camp.

Campers must be going into 2nd or 3rd grade.

Accomodations: Cabin

Space Investigators

Ever wondered what it would be like to explore outer space? Join us at Camp Judy Layne for the Space Investigators week! Campers will enjoy observing the night sky as well as learning about the planets and the stars through fun and creative activities. Weather permitting, campers will go off camp property to a facility to learn more about space. 

Campers must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.

Accomodations: Cabin

CSI Camp

Ever wondered what it would be like as a detective? Join us at Camp Judy Layne for CSI Camp. Learn the secrets from the world of forensic science and criminal psychology. Learn what it is like to solve a mystery by participating in an investigation and uncover your skills in one of the most exciting and demanding jobs for the detective mind. 

Campers must be going into the 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade.

Accomodations: Tent

CIT II (Counselor-in-Training II)

Complete the transition from camper to counselor through the CIT II program. As a CIT II, you will be at Camp Judy Layne sharpening your camp skills, learning how to work with campers of different ages, leading songs and games, while developing program ideas. Strengthen your leadership skills and you can volunteer to be a junior counselor after completing this session. This is your last hurrah as a camper make the most of it! Please note, you must complete CIT I before attending this session.

Campers must be going into the 10th, 11th or 12th grade and have completed CIT I

Session Two: 6/21/20 - 6/26/20

Dancing Queens

Bring your best moves to camp! Become part of the camp dance troupe by learning new and old dance moves. Take to the floor with different dance tunes and have fun dressing up and choreographing a dance with your new friends. Please feel free to bring your own dance costume to this session.     

Campers must be going into 2nd or 3rd grade.

Animal Habitats

Learn about the wild animals that live at Camp Judy Layne and the surrounding area. Investigate an animal habitat and learn how to protect an endangered species. Show your creativity by creating a puppet show to perform for all your camp friends. Please feel free to bring your own animal puppet to this session.

Campers must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.

Theater Performer

Lights, Camera, Action! Do you like performing on stage? Or maybe you are a behind the scenes kind of person. If theater is your calling, join us at Camp Judy Layne to help put on a production at Thicket Theater. Explore the world of the performing arts, while having fun with your friends. You and your friends will be the writers, stagehands, and performers of a short production at the end of the week.

Campers must be going into the 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade.

Who Run the World (Formerly Metamorphosis) 

Girls! Come join a group of fierce ladies, learn more about yourself and take the next step in Girl Scouts. In this session you will practice your leadership skills and gain more confidence in yourself while learning to become a leader. You will earn your Program Aide pin by exploring topics such Girl Scout age levels, learning camp songs and games, understanding the Girl Scout promise, and so much more! 

Girls must be going into the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade.

Outpost

Have you been to camp before and want to try something a little more adventurous? Come to the Outpost, our new primitive area which you will set up like a backcountry campsite. During this week, you will learn the basics on how to backcountry camp. Experience sleeping in a backpacking tent, cook several meals outside, and learn how to hang a bear bag. You can also bring your own hammock to relax in or find a place in the trees to hang your bed, but make sure to pack a rain fly and mosquito net. You will also participate in camp activities throughout the week. 

Campers must be going into the 6th, 7th or 8th grade

Session Three: 6/29/20 - 7/1/20

Three Day Troop Camping

Come to camp with your troop and enjoy a three-day session of adventure and fun. You will have the opportunity to challenge yourself on the climbing wall, explore your inner artist when you make a craft, jump on the giant jumping pillow, take a hike, and more!

For all age levels! K - 12th(must be 5+ years old at time of session)

Cost for a cabin:

Girl: $100

Adult: $55

Cost for a tent:

Girl: $95

Session Four: 7/5/20 - 7/10/20

Outdoor Adventure

Do you love being outside and learning about nature? Come to Camp Judy Layne for a week of outdoor adventure! Campers will learn about the animals and plants that live at camp. Take a hike, learn how to make a snack, and play fun games outside all while making new friends. 

Campers must be going into the 2nd or 3rd grade.

Pioneer Gals

Do you think pioneering would be a great adventure? During the pioneering week at camp you will have the opportunity to experience what it was like to live in the 1800s. Experience what it was like to live without electricity by sleeping in one our tent units plus learn skills the pioneers used in their daily lives. 

Campers must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.

Choose your Adventure

Do you love adventure? During this week of camp, you and your friends will have the opportunity to choose your expedition. At the beginning of the week, your counselors will give you options to choose an adventure that you and your friends will always remember. Maybe you will decide to hike all the trails at camp or maybe you will enjoy a day of canoeing and a picnic at Cave Run Lake. The choice will be yours!  

Campers must be going into the 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade.

CIT I (Counselor-in-Training I)

Have you always dreamed of becoming a camp counselor? Take the first step by attending the CIT I program. You will live at Camp Judy for two weeks sharpening your camp skills, learning how to work with campers of different ages, plus leading songs and games. Strengthen your leadership skills and earn your CIT pin. This is a two-week session and you must be able to attend both weeks to earn your CIT pin and to be eligible for CIT II next year.

Campers must be going into the 10th, 11th or 12th grade.

Session Five: 7/12/20 - 7/17/20

Making Games

Are you a gamer? Do you love playing Clue, Connect 4 or Twister? Then you will enjoy creating and playing new games to share with your friends at camp. Games are a great way to make new friends and have fun with old friends. Learn how to be a true game designer during this session.

Campers must be going into the 2nd or 3rd grade.

Eco Camper

This session is for the outdoor enthusiast. Campers will learn how to protect the environment by learning the Leave No Trace Principles. Use your skills as you venture outdoors and learn all the essentials to take with you when you go on your next outdoor excursion.

Campers must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.

Accomodations: Tents

Outdoor Art

If you are creative and have an artistic eye, then this week of camp is perfect for you. Throughout the week we will be exploring different mediums of art and learn about famous artists and their techniques on how to create a masterpiece. At the end of the week we will display your artwork!

Campers must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.
