Girl Scouting’s Highest Awards

The Girl Scout Gold Award®, the highest award in Girl Scouts, focuses on a 14- to 18-year-old Girl Scout’s interests and personal journey through leadership skills, career explorations, self-improvement, and service.

 

The Girl Scout Silver Award symbolizes an 11- to 14-year-old Girl Scout’s accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and works to better her life and the lives of others.

 

The Girl Scout Bronze Award recognizes that a Junior Girl Scout has gained the leadership and planning skills required to follow through with a project that makes a positive difference in her community.

Stephanie George presents her Gold Award Project at the Catholic Committee on Scouting’s Annual Dinner

Girl Scout Ambassador and cancer survivor, Stephanie George, presented her Gold Award Project “…and if you think that was scary!” at the Catholic Committee on Scouting’s Annual Dinner. Stephanie was commended for her leadership around cancer awareness as she used her own experiences as a cancer survivor to design a project to bring awareness, resources, screenings and treatments to the public.

Stephanie George, a Girl Scout Ambassador and cancer survivor who is dedicating her Gold Award to cancer awareness, invites you and your friends for an evening of Halloween fun and an opportunity to get great information about cancer screenings, treatments and resources that could save the life of you or someone you know!

The event is Saturday October 22, 2011 at 7:00 to 11:00 pm in the Lexington Catholic High School old gym.

There is a small fee of $4 for adults and $2 for children under 10.
