 #15 Junior Program Resources

Girl Scouts provides printed materials that are designed to give girls and adults the resources to Discover, Connect, and Take Action during their journey in Girl Scouting.

The Junior Guide is a 9x12 standard three ring binder so girls can add pages and other mementos to it.  The sections will include badge offerings; a handbook section covering traditions, history and bridging; and a “My Girl Scouts” section which include things like scrapbook pages, stickers, etc.

Here’s a summary of the Journey materials:

The Adult Journey Guide Book makes leading Girl Scouts easier and more enriching for volunteers by giving more information about what to do with girls and how to do it.  More importantly, the adult guide book helps volunteers to understand the purpose of Girl scouts, focusing on the why behind Girl Scout activities.  This guide also helps adults influence girls’ self-development and personal growth.  The adult guide complements the girl book and gives specifics for guiding girls through their journey.  The book provides detailed plans for a six-to-eight session journey with tips and ideas for expanding the experience over more session.  (i.e. a session may consist of one to several troop meetings).
