Teen Leadership Council (TLC)

What is a Teen Leadership Council?

Our Teen Leadership Councils are programming by girls for girls.  Meet girls who will become lifelong friends and work with them to change your world.

Our teen leaders become members of our Board of Directors, take over Camp Judy Layne to organize a weekend of high adventure, explore new countries in travel Destinations, and provide hours in their community making a real difference that everyone can see.

TLC is separate from a regular troop, holds monthly meetings, and girls need to reapply each year. Applications are accepted from July-Sept of the calendar year. We hope that you’ll apply!

Yes, I want to be the Top Cookie at Kentucky’s Wilderness Road!

For Immediate Release, November, 2011.

Do You Have What it Takes to be the Top Cookie?

Every year in Kentucky’s Wilderness Road, thousands of Girl Scouts take to the streets, schools and office complexes to sell Girl Scouts cookies. But at the same time they’re delivering tiny crumbling morsels of joy to hungry Kentuckians, they’re also learning about:

  • money management!
  • time management!
  • goal setting!
  • decision making!
  • people skills!
  • business ethics!

And for teens who’ve been selling cookies since they were Brownies, they’ve had the opportunity to learn all these things and more.

That’s why this Council needs you to make a video telling us about the awesome experiences you’ve had selling cookies!

Be creative! Show us your talents in cookies and video production!

The most phenomenal of all the entries will earn the opportunity to appear on television, radio, in the newspaper and any other place cookies are being promoted. Our Top Cookie will also earn the opportunity to appear as Thin Mint Millie at Council cookie carnivals and other special events.

What are you waiting for? Grab a camera, video camera, laptop or cell phone and start making your video about being this Council’s Top Cookie! There will be one top cookie selected per Cluster!

Find out the details of the Top Cookie contest, including rules and deadlines, here.
