Leaving a legacy.

The Juliette Gordon Low Society honors friends who have included Girl Scouts in their estate plans by naming Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road in their wills or other life-income gifts. Members enjoy select social gatherings and events and are recognized in our Annual Report.

Planned gifts – like bequests, living trusts and other life income gifts – allow anyone to make donations as part of their financial or estate planning. Planned gifts provide critical long-term, support for our Council, ensuring future generations of girls will experience the fun, education and leadership skills only available through Girl Scouts.

As a member of the Juliette Gordon Low Society, you can create a powerful legacy of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Invest in girls. Change the world with a planned gift.

You can create your legacy through a planned gift to Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road (GSWRC). An estate gift is more than a financial decision. It is a personal statement about who you are and what you care about in life. Your estate gift to Girl Scouts can provide life-changing experiences for girls - and establish your own legacy of investing in girl leaders for generations to come.

The First Planned Gift

In March of 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered 18 girls in Savannah, Georgia to begin Girl Scouts. Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship when she converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters and she gave the property to Girl Scouts in her will.

Juliette’s bequest represents the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts. In her memory, Girl Scouts established the Juliette Gordon Low Society to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who, like Juliette, choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacy and a beneficiary of their estate.

The Juliette Gordon Low Society of planned giving donors celebrates the girls of the future and ensures their opportunity to be Girl Scouts. Together we will empower girls to reach their fullest potential and build a better world.

Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road’s newly-launched Juliette Gordon Low Society celebrates charitable planned gifts to Girl Scouts and helps to ensure every girl in every ZIP code has the opportunity to experience Girl Scouts.
