    Hi,
We live in WI but recently visited KY in the fall. My daughter expressed interest in spelunking at mammoth cave and I am wondering if you have a summer camp that offers it?

  2. Sheila Miller-Cobb says:

So there is no Troop Camp session this year? Also, does the total fee need to be include at registration or just a deposit?

    • Sally says:

The deposit is $100 and as far as I know, the listing on the website is complete, so I don’t really know about Troop Camping, but I haven’t received info on it. For more information contact Kristina Rouland at krouland@gswrc.org. Hope that helps!

  3. Trisha Schroeder says:

If all 13 girls in my troop come to a camp will they be grouped together for activities and sleeping?

    • Sally says:

They would all need to apply for the same session and indicate under the field “Tent Buddies” which troop you are, and all the other members. We will do the very best to accommodate you! You should send in the applications ASAP, though, because girls are being placed on a first come, first served basis. How exciting that would be for your troop!

  4. Natalie Moak says:

Hi! My daughter is interested in attending the Harry Potter camp but will only have completed the 2nd grade. She repeated Kindergarten so she is the appropriate age (she’ll be 8) and the rest of her Brownie troop will all have completed the 3rd or 4th grade. Thanks!

  5. Amber says:

I live in ashland ky and I am looking for some activities like day camps in this area for my little girls daisy troop….

  6. Amy Cribbs says:

Is there a separate registration form for My Gal Overnighter? And do both the Scout and the mom need to complete a registration or just the Scout.

    Also, it’s $50/person Scout & Adult, correct?

  7. Amy Cribbs says:

Can anyone answer the question above so I can send my registration?

    • Kristina Rouland says:

I spoke to Amy through email, but I wanted to post the information here for everyone.
-You will send in the same paperwork for the The My Favorite Gal unit as everyother unit this summer. We need a registration for both the girl and adult so we have information for everyone attending on file.
-And yes – it is $50 per person (girl and adult).

  8. Sarah says:

My daughter is well on her way to earning a Golden Ticket to camp through Cookie Sales. In the past, Golden Ticket holders have had priority registration. This year, registration started way early. Will she be guaranteed the camp & session of her choice with her Golden Ticket as always?

  9. Lori Bishop says:

My daughter was looking so forward to the CSI camp this year. What happened to that camp this year?

    • Cassi says:

The sessions change every summer. There are some extremely popular ones that we do regularly and sometimes we skip a summer and come back to a session. A lot of the sessions were built around the recently retired badges so we’ve had to revamp to go along with The Girls Guide to Girl Scouting badges.

  10. Bguess says:

is there any transportation from other areas of Kentucky to this camp offered? it is awful far away.

    • Cassi says:

Unfortunately we do not offer transportation. You could try what my troop did when I was a little girl–one parent drove the kids to camp while another parent picked them up. It saved them from having to make two trips each.

  11. Sarah says:

My daughter has earned her golden ticket! She wants to know if their are any craft or nature camps she can go to for Judy Lane?

  12. Beth says:

I am trying to register my daughters but I can not find the health history form/consent to treat or the high risk waiver form. Will we be sent those later if they are able to get into the session they want?

  13. Barb says:

I noticed on the day camp registration form if I volunteer all five days then my daughter would be allowed to attend at no charge. Is there any opportunities to volunteer at the resident camp for a reduced tution? Unfortunately I am currently unemployed so it is hard to justify spending the money on camp even though I would love for her to have the experience. On the other hand being unemployed does give me the time necessary to volunteer, so I thought I would ask.

    Thanks,
    Barb

    • Cassi says:

Day camps are volunteer run, and they allow Moms to volunteer to pay for 1 girls fee for a week. However – the deadline for this was a couple weeks ago.

We cannot do a straight trade for council run camps, but there are options to make this work.
-Summer Camp Staff pay for their girls up front, and then we pay them after they work to reimburse the camp fee for their daughter.
-If you are free this summer –we are currently in desperate need for kitchen help for the summer and for a person to run the trading post. I would prefer to have someone who can work multiple weeks – like 3-4 weeks or whole summer, and your daughter could attend multiple weeks. The pay for these positions are slightly higher than the cost of camp per week.
-We have assistance available to current registered girls who participated in the cookie sale this year, but this only pays for part of the camp fee.

      • Barb says:

        Cassi,
I think we may be able to work out a schedule for the entire summer. Is there anyway I could talk to you about the two positions over the phone as I have a couple of questions about the schedule (training week) etc…

        Thanks,
        Barb

        • Cassi says:

I’m going to send Kristina your contact information and message because she’s doing the camp staff hiring this summer. Hopefully this will work out!

  14. Danielle white says:

Will you be sending out the camp brochures like last year and if so when and to who?

    • Cassi says:

This year we sent out a postcard this year. If there’s any additional information you need let us know and we can probably send it via email or help you find it on our website.

  15. Cheryl says:

Is there still space available for any 3 day sessions?

    • Cassi says:

Yes. There’s still availability in both of the Earth Week 3 day sessions and in both the Footloose 3 day sessions. There is also availability in the Camper Sampler 3 day sessions, but July 15th-17th is almost full but there’s lots of availability in 18th-20th. Let us know if you have any more questions!
