Attention Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors! The Kentucky Horse Park Needs YOU!

The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington is asking for 25 Cadettes, Seniors or Ambassadors and adults that would like to help with an event. The High Hope Steeplechase is on Sunday, May 18.   This is a tailgating event. The Girl Scouts will collect "flying" litter from the grounds at the end of the event. Trash will be from food and beverages. Girls will not be emptying trash cans, but just take their own (manageable weight/size) bags to a collection area for the Kentucky Horse Park staff to dispose of. The steeplechase course is all grass, has an infield and outfield and is on a gentle slope. All infield, outfield and close surrounding areas will need a sweep by the Girl Scouts to clean up the grounds. All gloves and garbage bags will be supplied by the Kentucky Horse Park.

The gates open at 11am, first race post is at 1:45pm and last race post at 5pm. Participating volunteers may come early and enjoy the entire event, but are required to provide volunteer service between 5-7pm.  All the cars will be leaving around 5:30 - 6pm and trash will be left behind.

The Kentucky Horse Park will provide up to 5 general admission tickets. One general admission ticket equals one personal vehicle (up to 7 people). So a troop can bring up to seven volunteers per car.
