100th Anniversary Bake-Off

Shine up your mixing bowls, calibrate your measuring cups and get ready for a fun and delicious contest!

On May 19th at the Frankfort Convention Center be ready to present your cakes for a Birthday Cake Bake-Off!

Entries will be judged on theme, taste, difficulty, overall appearance, and recipe card. It’s a delightfully sweet way to say “Happy Birthday!” to Girl Scouts. Check out the details below and  register to Bake-Off with Girl Scouts!

(Also, don’t forget your entry form!)

Check in:

  • Check in at the event on May 19 starts at 10 am.
  • All entries must be set up by 12:30 pm.
  • Pre-registration form must have been submitted prior to event. Deadline is April 30th 2012, by 5pm.

Registration:

  • The entry must be the work of only the person listed on the Registration Form.
  • Adults can help with putting cake in and out of the oven.
  • The Girl Scout will be On Their Honor to complete the entry themselves, carving, icing, decorating, etc.
  • All recipes must be on 4 X 6 lined Index cards, front side of card only.
  • Do not place any name, address, phone number, or troop number on cake or recipe card.

Cake and Decoration Details

  • Must be of the Girl Scout theme.
  • All decorations must be completely edible.
  • Edible Images are allowed and will be judged in context with the entire entry.
  • Cake must be real, no substitution such as cereal bars or Styrofoam dummies allowed.
  • Cake must have a full recipe or the name of the cake mix listed on the recipe card with the cake title at the top of the recipe card.
  • A 24 X 24 space will be available for each display. To conserve room for all entries, it should not extend beyond the 24 X 24 space allowed.
  • Cake can be any size or shape but must not extend beyond the space allowed.
  • Entries may use a covering, but it must be able to be easily removed.
  • Cake must be set up on a disposable carrier that can be discarded. (Such as a cake board, cardboard with foil etc.)

Rules and Regulation

  • Entries will be judged on theme, taste, difficulty, overall appearance, and recipe card.
  • Entries will be put in to the Girl Scout age group listed on the entry form.
  • One cake per entry form.
  • There will be only one troop entry. Only one entry per troop, individual girls of that troop may also submit a cake for their age level.
  • Trophies will be awarded for each category.
  • The decisions of the judges are FINAL.  Judges may not enter or be related to any entry received.
  • All entries will be eaten after being Judged.
  • Any cake left after 5 pm becomes the property of GSKWRC and will be disbursed by the committee and or affiliates.
